Dr. Cristobal Moreno is a Consultant in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. After graduating from medical school in Malaga, Spain, he completed his training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology within the country. He began his gastroenterology career in Spain, serving as the Chief of Gastroenterology and the Bariatric Endoscopy Department at two hospitals: USP and High Care International Hospital. Subsequently, he relocated to the Middle East, spending three years working in Saudi Arabia at the Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group and six years as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. There, he demonstrated significant clinical interest and expertise in the medical and endoscopic management of obesity. He became a key member of the Bariatric multidisciplinary team, led the clinic-based liver elastography practice, and focused on patients with medically complicated obesity and fatty liver disease.
During his tenure at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Moreno actively collaborated in research within the Bariatric Unit, contributing to several abstracts and presentations. He was appointed as a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University and as an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Khalifa University’s College of Medicine and Health Sciences.
