Dr. Murali Pandurangan brings over 25 years of extensive experience in anesthesiology, pain management, and critical care, having worked in prominent hospitals across India, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates. He joins us after serving at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi for seven years. He was part of a multifaceted team of anesthetists providing advanced level of care for elective and emergency procedures. He gained experience in anesthesia and sedation for neurosurgical, neuroradiological procedures, robotic surgery, endoscopy surgery, complex interventional radiological procedures, bariatric procedures, ENT, eye, colorectal, kidney transplant, vascular surgeries and electrophysiological cardiac procedures. He also gained valuable experience in pediatric anesthesia and anesthesia for orthopedic procedures during his prior appointments in Medcare Orthopedics and Spine Hospital in Dubai and Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Murali Pandurangan earned his medical degree in 1996 from the prestigious Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in India, followed by an MD in Anesthesiology. After working in Chennai for a year and a half, he relocated to the UK, where he held progressive roles in hospitals across the West Midlands, Isle of Man, Kent, and Sussex. Advancing through the ranks, he transitioned from senior house officer to senior registrar, locum consultant and eventually took on his first consultant role in Bangalore, India, before joining the SKMC Caregiver team in December 2012.

An accomplished clinician, Dr. Pandurangan has authored several published articles and delivered numerous oral and poster presentations at prestigious forums. Highlights include his research on predicting difficult airway for which he was awarded the second prize at the Difficult Airway Society in the United Kingdom in 2023. He has also trained the department on emergency airway skills for two consecutive years. He received a certificate of appreciation from the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi leadership.

Dr. Murali Pandurangan holds a European Diploma in Intensive Care and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA). He has also done the Executive General Management from IIM Bangalore and is Certified in Medical Quality. He is also certified as Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Life Support provider.

He remains a respected member of professional organizations such as the General Medical Council and the Royal College of Anaesthetists in the UK, Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland, Difficult Airway Society as well as the Indian Society of Anesthesiologists.
