After graduating from the American University of Beirut Medical School, Dr. Achjian traveled to the United States where she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Medical Branch. She graduated from her training program with multiple awards. She then joined the faculty at the University of Texas Medical Branch as an assistant professor.  Dr. Achjian is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.

She also holds a Master of Public Health degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

Dr. Achjian is licensed to practice medicine in Abu Dhabi, California and Texas. She maintains a visiting attending position at California Hospitals.

She is fluent in Arabic, English and Armenian. She also knows basic French and Spanish.
